Teamer is closing, and nothing exports
Pitchero have confirmed there are no export tools of any kind, so your member list, fixtures and messages have to be copied out by hand before 5 October or they are gone. This is the checklist: what to save, which screen holds it, and what is already switched off.
The dates
What happens, and when
All of this comes from Pitchero's own shutdown FAQ rather than from anyone else's campaign page. The important line is the second one: parts of Teamer have already stopped working, so the deadline that matters to most clubs has passed rather than approaching.
| When | What changes |
|---|---|
| Wednesday 5 August 2026 | Pitchero emailed every Teamer organiser to confirm the closure. |
| Already in force | New app downloads, new user registrations, new team creations and new payment provider links are switched off. Your club cannot sign up a new player on Teamer today. |
| During September 2026 | Teamer Premium subscriptions are cancelled, so billing does not roll into October. Check your own statement rather than assuming it lands cleanly. |
| Monday 5 October 2026 | The platform closes. Accounts, teams, members, events and messages stop being accessible. |
Good news first
Your payment records are not in Teamer
Teamer Payments is a Stripe integration, and the Stripe account is your club's, not Teamer's. Transactions, payouts, payer names and the records your treasurer needs for the year end all live in Stripe and are unaffected by Teamer closing. Log in at dashboard.stripe.com with the account your club connected, and export from there.
Two things to do before October rather than after. Check somebody at the club can still log into that Stripe account, because it is often connected by a treasurer who has since handed over. And make sure any money Teamer has collected but not yet paid out has actually settled into the club's bank account.
Pitchero's "no export tools" statement is about members and events, and it is accurate. It is not a statement about your payment history, and a lot of clubs have read it that way.
The rescue list
What to copy out, in order of pain
Do this in a web browser rather than the app. Teamer's member records show more detail on the web, and the app never had the screens you need here. Set aside an hour per team and work down this list.
The CSV template has the columns already set up, including two for the Teamer team name and role so you do not lose which squad somebody was in.
1. Your member list
Where it is
Web browser, not the app. Open your team page and go to the members section, which is where Teamer shows the full record. The mobile app shows less per member.
What to record
First name, last name, email address, phone number, and the roles each person holds (player, team admin, parent).
This is the one that matters most. Everything else can be rebuilt from memory. A parent contact list cannot.
2. Which team each person was in
Where it is
One team at a time. If your club runs several Teamer teams, each is a separate group with its own member list, so work through them one by one.
What to record
The team name alongside each person, in its own column.
Teams were never linked together in Teamer, so nothing is going to reassemble this for you afterwards.
3. Your fixture and training pattern
Where it is
The events section. Teamer holds event type (game or training), date and time, venue, opposition, and meet time.
What to record
Enough to rebuild the pattern: which nights you train, where, and the fixture list for the rest of the season.
You do not need every historical event. You need the shape of the week, and any fixtures still to play.
4. Anything you rely on from message history
Where it is
Team chat and event comments.
What to record
Screenshots of anything that matters, such as an agreed arrangement, a consent given in a message, or a contact detail only ever shared in chat.
Messages are not recoverable after the closure. If it only exists in a thread, it only exists until 5 October.
5. Player of the Game and other poll results
Where it is
On the event itself, if you had the poll enabled.
What to record
A note of the season's winners, if your club reads them out at presentation night.
Small, but it is the kind of thing nobody thinks about until June.
Worth knowing
Teamer never held half of what a club needs
Teamer was a team availability app, so it stored a name, an email, a phone number and a role. It did not hold dates of birth, emergency contacts, medical notes, addresses or consents. Most club platforms need at least some of that, and ClubPal requires a date of birth on import because age is what drives eligibility rules and age-group placement.
So there is a second job here, and it is worth doing once, properly: send your members a short form collecting the fields Teamer never had, at the same time as you tell them about the move. The template has columns for those fields sitting empty and ready. In ClubPal you would use forms for exactly this, but any form tool will do, and doing it now beats chasing the same information one parent at a time in November.
If your club is required to hold safeguarding or medical information for junior members and has been keeping it somewhere other than Teamer, check where that actually is before October. More than one club has discovered it was in a Teamer message thread.
Questions
The Teamer shutdown, answered
When exactly does Teamer close?
Monday 5 October 2026. Pitchero confirmed the date by email to all users on Wednesday 5 August 2026, and states that after the closure "team and user data will no longer be accessible".
Can I export my data from Teamer before it closes?
No. Pitchero's own shutdown FAQ says: "Unfortunately, there are no export tools to make a team's events and members lists portable to a new system." Your member list and event history have to be copied out by hand, from a web browser, before 5 October 2026.
Why is Teamer shutting down?
Pitchero say they are "unable to make the level of long-term investment required to continue operating Teamer sustainably" and are focusing on their Pitchero and PitcheroGPS platforms instead. Teamer was acquired by Pitchero in 2018.
What happens to the payments we took through Teamer?
Teamer Payments runs on Stripe, and the Stripe account belongs to your club rather than to Teamer. Your transaction history, payouts and payer records live in that Stripe account and are not affected by Teamer closing. Log in at dashboard.stripe.com with the account your club connected and export what you need from there. Check your access before October rather than after.
Can we still add new players to Teamer?
No. New user registrations, new team creations and new app downloads have already been switched off ahead of the closure. A club that needs to sign on a player for this season has to do it somewhere else, which is why the practical deadline is now rather than October.
What about our Teamer Premium subscription?
Pitchero say all Teamer Premium subscriptions will be cancelled during September 2026 to prevent billing continuing into October. Team admins can also cancel it themselves at any time from a web browser. Check your bank or card statement in early October to confirm it actually stopped.
Does the club have a data protection obligation here?
Quite possibly, yes. Your club, not Teamer, is the data controller for your members' personal data, and that duty does not end because a supplier switches off. If you hold records you are required to keep, for membership, safeguarding, or an insurance requirement, then losing access to them on 5 October is your problem to solve rather than Pitchero's. Copying them out before the closure is the practical answer.
Do we have to move to Pitchero?
No. Pitchero are offering Teamer users a discount code to move onto their platform, which is a reasonable offer, but it is not a requirement and your data does not carry across to Pitchero either. Worth knowing before you decide: Pitchero list the sports they directly support as football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, hockey, netball and basketball. If your club plays something else, check it covers you properly before committing.
If you are still choosing
Where ClubPal fits, and where it does not
ClubPal is a club platform rather than a team availability app. If all your club ever wanted was the Saturday question, something lighter may genuinely suit you better, and the Teamer comparison page says so plainly. If you are weighing up the Pitchero migration offer, we have costed that one out too: ClubPal compared with Pitchero, including the club size at which Pitchero is the cheaper option. If you are running membership, subs, sessions, kit and a website across several teams, that is what ClubPal is for.
It is free to set up and free to run. The only charge is 20p + 3.5% per transaction on money your club actually collects, and nothing at all in a month where it collects none, so there is no cost to rebuilding your teams now and taking your time over the decision. Send us the spreadsheet you filled in and we will map the columns and clean it with you.
Running several teams on Teamer? Then this is a club decision rather than a team one, and the awkward part is that each manager is picking their own replacement right now. That problem, and how a committee gets ahead of it, is set out in eight teams, eight apps, one club.
