An athletics club is not one group of people doing one thing. It is sprinters, distance runners, jumpers and throwers, split again by age group, each with a coach who needs a workable number of athletes in front of them. On a Tuesday at the track that is half a dozen sessions happening at once, and one committee trying to keep track of who is entitled to be at which.
