Is the club website really free?
Yes. Your club gets a website at an address like yourclub.clubpal.app from the day you create your club, at no cost. There is no subscription, no setup fee, no hosting bill, no per-page charge and no trial counting down. ClubPal charges a flat fee only on money your club actually collects, so a club that uses the website and takes no payments pays nothing at all.
We have no website at all. What do we actually get?
A live, public website on the internet, ready before you have written anything. Out of the box it has a homepage with your welcome message, Register and Sign in buttons for visitors, and a list of your next sessions and events that keeps itself up to date as you add them. You then add your own pages, about the club, where you train, who to contact, on top of that.
Do we need to buy a domain name?
No. Every club gets a free address at yourclub.clubpal.app, and plenty of clubs never use anything else. If you would rather visitors typed www.yourclub.com, you can point a domain you own at your ClubPal site for £25 a year, which includes the SSL certificate. That is the only charge anywhere on the club website, and it is optional.
Do we need a web developer, or anyone technical?
No. Pages are built by choosing a column layout and dropping blocks into it: headings, text, images, a Google map of where you play, and a list of upcoming sessions. It is closer to writing a document than building a website, and there is no code, no hosting to configure and no software to keep updated. Any committee member you give the Manage Content permission to can do it.
We already have a Wix or Squarespace site. Should we move?
Not necessarily, and there is no rush. The reason clubs move is that a ClubPal site is joined up with the rest of the club: your sessions, events, joining process and payments are already on it, so nobody is copying next term’s timetable from the admin system into a separate website by hand. If your current site is working, you can keep it and point it at ClubPal for joining and bookings instead.
Can we keep our club Facebook page?
Yes, and most clubs do. They do different jobs: a Facebook page is where the people who already follow your club talk to each other, and a website is where somebody who has never heard of you finds your training times, your address and how to join. A ClubPal website is also indexed by search engines and belongs to the club rather than to whoever set the page up.
Will people find our website on Google?
Every page has its own meta title and description, a URL you choose, Open Graph tags for link previews, and an automatically generated sitemap, with no plugins to install. Search engines still decide the rankings, so what a new site does is make your club findable for its own name, its sport and its town, which for most clubs is the search that matters.
Can members-only content live on the same site?
Yes. Any page can be left public or restricted with rules about who may open it, and individual blocks on a page can be shown only to signed-in members or only to logged out visitors. A block outside the viewer’s audience is never sent to their browser, so members-only content is not hidden in the page for a visitor to find.
