Switching to ClubPal

A ClubSpark alternative for session-based clubs

Plenty of clubs are on ClubSpark because a governing body recommended it years ago, not because they compared anything. If it no longer fits how your club runs, you can move.

Court booking software, used as a whole club system

ClubSpark was built around court booking, and it is genuinely good at it. The friction tends to appear when a club uses it for everything else: multi-discipline session schedules, tiered membership admin, and the kind of week-to-week booking that is not a court at all.

British Triathlon steered clubs towards ClubSpark for a period, and a number of triathlon clubs are still on it. A triathlon club is close to the hardest case for court-booking software: three disciplines, three venues, and capacity rules that differ per session type. Pool lanes are a hard cap. A track night is not.

ClubPal is built the other way round, starting from sessions and membership. If your club is mostly courts, ClubSpark is probably still the better tool and we would rather say so. If your club is mostly sessions, this is worth a look.

LTA affiliation
Does not require ClubSpark. Tennis clubs can run membership and bookings elsewhere and stay fully affiliated.
ClubSpark cost
Free to LTA-affiliated venues. Cost is not the argument here, fit is.
ClubPal
No subscription. 20p + 3.5% per transaction, and nothing if you take no payments. Every feature included on every account.
An honest starting point
ClubSpark is strong at what it was built for, and many venues should stay
What ClubSpark does well

If your club is mostly courts, this list probably describes why you are still there, and none of it is wrong.

Court booking with proper slot management
Gate and floodlight integrations few platforms offer
Deep LTA integration, competitions and box leagues
Where ClubPal differs

ClubPal starts from sessions and membership rather than courts. That suits multi-discipline and session-based clubs, and suits pure court venues less.

Per-session capacity with automatic waiting lists
Different venues and rules per session type
Membership eligibility rules on every package

What switching actually involves

1. Check what you actually use
If gate access and court slot management are central to your club, staying put is a reasonable answer and we will tell you so.
2. Export your members
Get your member list out as a spreadsheet. We will map the columns and clean it with you.
3. Model one week first
Rebuild a single week of sessions in ClubPal and see whether it expresses your club better than what you have.
4. Keep your affiliation
For tennis clubs, moving your membership and booking admin does not affect LTA affiliation. Check with your county if you want it confirmed.

More detail on the process is on the switching page, or talk to us about your club before you decide.
