A Pitchero alternative with no monthly bill
Pitchero is a capable platform and this is an honest comparison, including the transaction rate and the club size where Pitchero costs less than we do.
The difference is the subscription
Pitchero has been running since 2007 and does a lot well. The structural difference is that Pitchero is a subscription product and ClubPal is not. Pitchero's free tier covers one team, carries third-party advertising and cannot take payments at all, so any club that runs more than one side and collects money online is on Standard at £38 a month or Pro at £99 a month. That is £456 or £1,188 a year before a single transaction fee.
ClubPal has no subscription at any club size. The only charge is a fee on money the club actually collects, and nothing at all in a month where it collects none. That is the whole comparison, and whether it favours you depends almost entirely on how much your club turns over.
The other difference worth knowing about before you sign anything: Pitchero places third-party advertising on club sites on the free and Standard plans, and removing it means the Pro plan. ClubPal does not put advertising on a club site on any plan, because there is only one plan.
Said plainly and first. If any of these is the thing your club needs most, Pitchero is very likely the better choice and you should not let this page talk you out of it.
The trade is a higher percentage on payments against no subscription and no advertising. For most volunteer-run clubs that trade lands in our favour, but not for all of them.

The numbers, including where we lose
Annual totals for a club paying Pitchero Standard at £38 a month, which is £456 a year, plus their published Standard processing rate of 2.42% + 17p. ClubPal has no subscription, so its column is the transaction fee alone. Payments are assumed to average £50. The crossover sits at roughly £40,000 collected a year: below it ClubPal costs less, above it Pitchero does.
| Money collected per year | ClubPal | Pitchero Standard |
|---|---|---|
| £5,000 across 100 payments | £195 (cheaper) | £594 |
| £15,000 across 300 payments | £585 (cheaper) | £870 |
| £35,000 across 700 payments | £1,365 (cheaper) | £1,422 |
| £60,000 across 1,200 payments | £2,340 | £2,112 (cheaper) |
Read the last row as carefully as the first. A club collecting £60,000 a year pays Pitchero £228 less than it pays us, because our 3.5% outweighs their subscription at that volume, and a club that size should choose Pitchero on cost. The exact crossover is close to £40,000 collected a year at an average payment of £50, where the two come out level to the pound. Below it we cost less, above it they do. Two things push the comparison back our way and are not in the table: Pitchero quote their processing rates as "from", so a club may be offered a higher one, and the £456 assumes 20 teams or fewer, with extra teams at £2.50 a month each on top. Neither column includes VAT.
Pitchero pricing checked against their published rates on 28 August 2026. Rates change, so verify before making a decision on cost alone.
What switching actually involves
Pitchero competes for the same clubs we do. If you run one of these, the sport page covers the admin in more detail: football club management software, rugby club management software, cricket club management software, hockey club management software, and netball club management software.
More detail on the process is on the switching page, or talk to us about your club before you decide.
