A season of subs, a winter of nothing

Cricket is six months on and six months off. Season subs, match fees, and net bookings handled through the summer, and no bill at all when the covers are on.

Software that stops charging you in October

A cricket club has a shape most software ignores. The season runs roughly April to September, and for the other half of the year the club is a winter nets booking and an AGM. Paying a monthly subscription through February is paying for a month in which nothing happened.

ClubPal has no subscription. The only cost is a fee on payments taken through the platform, so a club that takes no money in December pays nothing in December. That suits a seasonal sport better than any per-member monthly rate.

Through the season, the admin is the familiar list: season subs across senior, junior, student, and social categories, match fees on a Saturday, colts sessions with a register and consent forms behind them, and nets to book and pay for. All of it sits in one place, and the fixture side carries on wherever your league already runs it.

Nothing to pay off-season
No subscription means a quiet winter costs the club nothing at all, rather than five months of paying for a system nobody opened.
Senior, junior, and social subs
Each category with its own price, renewal date, and eligibility rules, so a colt cannot buy a senior playing membership by mistake.
Nets and ground hire
Book winter nets or let the ground and pavilion to other clubs, with pricing rules and automated reminders.
Why seasonality matters
A subscription bills the same in February as it does in July
The problem with monthly pricing

A cricket club is active for roughly half the year. A per-member monthly subscription charges for the other half regardless, which is the part that quietly hurts a small club.

Twelve months of billing for six months of use
Per-member charges rise as the colts section grows
The bill arrives whether or not money came in
How ClubPal prices instead

The fee applies to payments, not to time or to headcount, so the cost tracks the club activity rather than the calendar.

Nothing to pay in a month with no payments
No per-member charge as the club grows
The whole fee returned when you refund a member

The season admin, handled

Season subs that renew
Set subs to renew at the start of each season with pro rata joining, so April is not a fortnight of chasing last year's list.
Match fees without the tin
Take match fees at the point of booking rather than collecting cash in the pavilion and reconciling it on a Sunday.
Colts sessions with a register
Junior sessions with real capacity, a coach assigned, and a register that gets marked at the ground rather than transcribed later.
Consent and medical forms
Collect parental consent, medical notes, and photography permissions once, and export them when the club needs them.
Club kit and teas
Sell playing kit with sizes as variations, or take payment for teas and social events in the same place as everything else.
Numbers for the AGM
Membership by category, income by source, and session attendance, all exportable when the treasurer builds the accounts.
