Ask a club how they found ClubPal and the most common answer is another club. A treasurer who moved and joined a new committee. A coach who runs sessions for two clubs. Someone at a regional meeting who mentioned they had stopped chasing membership fees by hand.

That is how most clubs find us, and until now we have never said thank you for it. From today we do. Introduce a club to ClubPal, and when they sign up and take their first payment, we send you a £50 Amazon voucher.

What you get

£50 as an Amazon.co.uk gift voucher, or €50 on Amazon.ie if you are based in Ireland, for every club you refer that signs up and processes its first payment through ClubPal.

There is no limit. Refer one club, get one voucher. Refer five, get five. There are no tiers to climb and no monthly cap.

Who can refer

Anyone. You do not need to be a ClubPal user. Committee members, coaches, ordinary members, a parent who runs the WhatsApp group, someone who just knows a club drowning in spreadsheets: all of it counts.

If you sit on the committee of one club and want to bring across a second one you are involved with, that counts too. You did the convincing, so the voucher is yours.

The only people excluded are ClubPal employees and the contractors who work on ClubPal for us.

How to claim it

There are no referral links and no tracking codes. We match referrals by name, which means you have to tell us before, or at the point of, the club signing up. Two ways:

  1. Email us. Send your name and the club you are referring to referrals@clubpal.app. A contact at the club is helpful but not required.
  2. Have the club name you. The signup form asks "How did you hear about ClubPal?". If they put your name in that box, we will match it to you.

Either works. What does not work is telling us after the club has already been on ClubPal for a month. We cannot attach a referral retrospectively, so mention it early.

The honest bits

A few things worth knowing before you start:

  • The club has to take a payment. A signup on its own does not trigger the reward. The first processed payment does. There is no deadline on that, so if they sign up in October and take their first payment in January, the referral still counts in January.
  • We pay 28 days after that payment. The wait is so we can confirm the payment was not refunded or reversed. If it is, within that window, the referral does not qualify.
  • The club must be new to us. A club already in active discussion with ClubPal when you refer it does not count. If you are not sure, email us and ask first.
  • Tax is your side. A voucher may or may not affect your tax position depending on your circumstances. If you refer regularly, a quick check with an accountant is sensible.

The club you refer pays nothing extra, and nothing less either. ClubPal has no subscription, and a referred club is charged exactly the same per-transaction fee as everyone else. Nothing about this programme is funded by the club you bring in.

Why now

ClubPal has grown almost entirely on word of mouth, and that suits us. A club that arrives because a neighbouring club vouched for them tends to stick, because they already know what they are getting. Paying for that introduction is cheaper for us than advertising, and it puts the money in the pocket of the person who did the actual work.

The full terms are on the referral terms page, and the short version, with a few common questions, is at clubpal.app/refer. If you have a club in mind, send us their name.
