v3.1.879.1124

Members get an account dashboard, every page on your site now lives on one screen with eligibility rules deciding who can read it, content pages can carry a map, facilities can carry a photo, PDFs open in a viewer of our own, and a card can be saved with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Clicking into your account used to land you on an edit form. It now opens a dashboard that answers what a member actually wants to know: what they owe, what they have booked, and what needs their attention. On the admin side, Content > Pages finally lists every page a club has rather than half of them, and who may read a page is now decided by the same eligibility rules as everything else. Facilities can carry a photo, content pages can carry a map, and a member on a club using ClubPal Payments can save a card straight from Apple Pay or Google Pay.

New features

Your account, on one page

Dashboard is the new landing page for a member's account, and Edit Profile is now its own item in the account menu rather than the thing you arrive at. Everything a member might want to check was previously spread across eleven sibling pages with nothing summarising it.

  • Membership leads the page: package, status, how far through the term you are, when it renews, and working Add to Apple Wallet and Add to Google Wallet buttons.
  • Alerts appear at the top when there is something to say, such as a profile that needs confirming, or a saved card that expires before a membership auto renews.
  • Payments due gathers outstanding payment requests, unpaid session bookings, venue hire with payment outstanding and unpaid ticket holds into one list, overdue first, with a total. Unpaid sessions collapse to a single row because they are settled together anyway. Venue hire says Contact the club to pay, since there is no self-service pay flow for it.
  • Upcoming Bookings merges session bookings, event tickets and venue hire into one list, so a member reads their week in one place instead of three.
  • Managed profiles lets an account holder switch between the profiles they manage, with the active one marked.
  • Recent activity merges payments, store orders, ticket purchases and attendance into a single history.
  • Account shows settings and personal details with their current state on each row, not just a link.

Every page on one screen

Content > Pages only ever listed pages a club had created. The ten built-in pages are a different kind of thing entirely, so they appeared one screen over under Content > Navigation, which is why the list looked short and nobody could find the page they were after.

The two screens are now one. Content > Navigation is gone and its address redirects.

  • A drag and drop navigation tree, plus a Not in navigation shelf for pages that exist and work by URL but are not linked from the menu. Dragging a page between the two is how it joins or leaves the menu, and the tree saves itself shortly after you drop, with no Save button to remember.
  • Every kind of page in one list: custom pages, built-ins and blogs. Per-page settings moved into a modal, replacing both the old inline rename and the separate full-page form.
  • Built-in pages stop failing silently. Dragging Store into your menu used to give you a success message and no menu item, because the real switch is a club setting. Those rows now carry an Off in settings chip and point at the setting that controls them.

Who can read a page is now an eligibility rule

Page access was a single Members only tick. It is now the same rule editor used by sessions, passes and products, so a page can be limited by membership, member group, qualification or the value of a profile field.

The Members only page a blocked visitor lands on now tells them what they would actually need, rather than a single generic line. Pages that have not been moved over keep working exactly as they did.

A map on any content page

A new Map block sits alongside the others in the page editor. Type an address or a place name, set the zoom with a slider, and the block renders a map of it.

The configuration panel shows a live preview underneath the address box as you type, so you can see what was found before you save rather than after. The map fills its column edge to edge like an image, so add a Heading block above it if you want it titled.

Photos on your facilities

A facility can now carry a photo, uploaded from its edit page and cropped to 16:9. It appears on the facility list and at the top of the booking page.

A facility without a photo shows no image at all rather than a placeholder, so the list stays tidy while you work through adding them. There is also an Edit Facility button on the booking page for admins, which saves hunting back through the admin area to correct a detail you have just spotted.

Pin a message in chat

Anyone with Manage Chats can pin one message to the top of a conversation, shown as a banner above the stream. Pin and Unpin sit in the message action row, and it works the same way in a session chat, an event chat or a channel.

Tapping the banner opens the message in full. A pin is worth having precisely because the message has scrolled out of reach, so it opens rather than trying to scroll you to something that is no longer on screen.

Pinning a second message replaces the first, so a conversation only ever has one. Hiding or deleting a pinned message clears the banner for everyone.

Default eligibility rules for sessions

Session Settings already carried defaults for booking, cancellation and refund windows. It now carries Default Eligibility Rules and Default Coach Eligibility too, so a club running members-only sessions stops rebuilding the same rule group by hand every time.

New sessions are created with both sets already filled in, and you can edit or remove them before saving. Existing sessions and clones are left alone.

Save a card with Apple Pay or Google Pay

Members of clubs on ClubPal Payments can now save a card without typing one. Add card on Payment Methods opens a Save a Card page offering Google Pay and Apple Pay above the card form, with nothing charged at that moment. The wallet buttons also stay available on payments that need a card stored for later, rather than disappearing whenever a renewal was involved.

A saved wallet card is now labelled as one. The list reads Apple Pay, Visa ending 4242 and shows the wallet's own mark in place of the card scheme logo, because the digits belong to the wallet's device number rather than the card in your pocket, and a card you cannot recognise is a card you cannot safely remove.

A real PDF viewer in the file manager

Opening a PDF in the file manager handed it to the browser to draw, so what you saw depended entirely on the device you were holding, and on Android you saw nothing at all.

PDFs now open in a viewer ClubPal draws itself, the same on every device, with Previous page and Next page either side of a Page 1 of 12 counter, and Zoom in, Zoom out and Fit to width. Anything above 25MB still offers a download instead of being pulled in to render.

The file page changed shape around it. Actions moved out of the sidebar and into a bar across the top as labelled icon buttons, the preview now spans the full width of the page, and file details, Shared With and the file note moved into a File details drawer opened from that bar. On a phone the activity log stacks into two-line entries rather than scrolling sideways.

Improvements

  • Sessions: the check-in row no longer hides three actions behind one button. Check In, Check Out and Check In Again only ever move forwards, and undoing a mis-tap is a separate Undo link that is always visible and says what it does. The old red trash icon read as removing someone's booking when it only cleared their attendance. Checking someone back in keeps their real arrival time and does not re-send the unpaid booking email.
  • Facility hire: anyone can now browse the facility list without signing in, with public pricing on the cards. The sign-in prompt moves to the point of booking. Facility hire is also switched on by default for new clubs.
  • Chat: session chat, event chat and channels are switched on by default for new clubs. Existing clubs are untouched. The Getting started checklist also gained a Turn on chat item for clubs that have not tried it.
  • Notifications: each switch on the notification preferences page now saves itself as you move it, with no Save button, and the page lays out properly on a phone.
  • Theme: Edit Theme moved into the account menu next to Administration, where admins already look. The small palette tab pinned to the edge of every admin page is gone, because nobody was finding it.
  • Payments: Admin > Payments > Settings now shows the rate your club is actually charged, at the top of the page rather than buried in a session card. It reads your real ClubPal Payments rate once you are live, your existing rate while you are still on a previous provider along with the date and rate you move to, and standard pricing if you have connected nothing yet. It also states whether the fee is added to the member's total or deducted from your payout. The old page told every club it paid 2.5%, which was wrong for most of them.
  • Payments: the member's payment request page leads with the amount owed, shows an overdue badge and the due date, gives any note from the club its own panel, and restates the amount on the button. Paying from a bell notification now clears the notification.
  • File manager: sharing a folder as Edit now genuinely grants write access. It previously changed nothing, so the permission dropdown in the share drawer was decorative. Edit covers uploading, creating folders, replacing, renaming and moving. Deleting is deliberately excluded, because a folder delete cascades through everything inside it.

Fixes

  • Fixed a problem where cancelling a facility hire booking never refunded the member. All three cancellation routes told the member "a refund will be processed", by toast and by email, and no money ever moved. Refunds are now issued on cancellation wherever it is done, and an admin sees a clear warning on the booking if the payment provider rejected one. Bookings cancelled before this release were never refunded and are not corrected automatically.
  • Fixed a problem where a member added to a session by an admin, added as a coach, created as a walk-up at check-in, or swapped onto a session was never subscribed to that session's chat, so they saw none of its messages. Muting a conversation still survives being re-added.
  • Fixed Upload Files in the file manager being unable to select a file in Chrome, and fixed files dropped inside a nested folder being stored where nothing could read them back, which showed as a working upload with no preview and a failed download.
  • Fixed a problem where removing a saved card, or another card action that could not be completed, quietly reloaded the page as though it had worked. The real reason is now shown.
  • Fixed a wallet or card payment failing with "An unexpected error occurred", which the page then repeated back in brackets as if it were the reason. A declined payment now says what was actually wrong.
  • Fixed a member being left with saved cards but no usable default, which surfaced much later as a renewal reporting that no payment method could be found while a perfectly good card sat on the account.
  • Fixed clubs that opted in to ClubPal Payments early being told on every admin page that migration was required and that they must complete onboarding "to continue accepting payments". They had already migrated and their payments were working throughout.
  • Fixed outstanding verification paperwork blocking card payments for clubs on ClubPal Payments. Verification holds up payouts, not payments.
  • Fixed clubs registered as a business being unable to complete verification. ClubPal only ever asked for the documents the business itself needed and never the ones required for the people who run it, so the page told clubs to wait for something that was never going to arrive. Clubs connecting an existing account are also no longer asked to add people the provider already holds.
  • Fixed a new payment request not appearing in the list you are returned to after sending it. It arrived a few seconds later on a refresh, which read as broken every time.
