RSVP

Let members say whether they are attending an event, and control who can see the attendee list.

When an event has Allow members to RSVP enabled, members can indicate whether they plan to attend.

Responding to an event

Open the event detail page and use the RSVP controls in the sidebar:

  • Going: confirms you plan to attend.
  • Maybe: lets others know you're interested but not committed.
  • Not Going: lets others know you won't be attending.

Click any button to record your response. Your selected status is highlighted on the button.

Changing or removing your response

To change your response, click a different status button. To remove your response entirely, click your currently selected status again; clicking the same button a second time removes the response.

Attendee list

The event detail page shows who has responded and what their status is. The count for each status is shown on the RSVP buttons (e.g. Going · 3).

The Attendees tab on the event page shows a full list of members and their responses.

Privacy

Members can control whether their name appears in event attendee lists.

Go to Account Settings > Privacy and toggle Show my name in event attendee lists.

  • When enabled: your name and status appear in the attendee list for all members.
  • When disabled: you appear as "Anonymous" in the attendee list. Your response still counts toward the total numbers, but your identity is protected from other members.
Admin visibility

Club administrators and members with the Manage Events permission can always see everyone's names, even if they've opted out. When viewing someone who has hidden their name, admins see a lock icon (🔒) next to the name to indicate the member's privacy preference.

Your response is always recorded and counted, regardless of your privacy setting. Hiding your name doesn't affect attendance numbers, it only protects your identity.

Who can see the RSVP data?

  • All logged-in members can see the attendee list for events they have access to.
  • Members who have opted out of public visibility are hidden from the list.
  • Members without a ClubPal account can view event details but cannot RSVP and cannot see the attendee list.

RSVP for recurring events

Each occurrence of a recurring event has its own independent RSVP state. Responding to one occurrence does not affect other occurrences in the series.

The event detail page always shows the specific occurrence you navigated to.

RSVP and tickets

If an event also has ticket sales enabled, a confirmed ticket purchase automatically marks the member as Going. You don't need to update your RSVP separately when buying tickets.

If you hold tickets from more than one order for the same occurrence, cancelling one order does not change your RSVP back to Not Going as long as you still hold tickets from another order. Your RSVP only resets to Not Going when you cancel your last remaining tickets for that occurrence.
