# Member booking

> What members see when booking a facility, including how slots are held during checkout and when they can cancel.

Members book facilities directly from the **Facility Hire** menu on your site.

## How to book

1. Open **Facility Hire** on the main site.
2. Choose a facility.
3. Select a date.
4. Select a start time.
5. Select a duration.
6. Add optional special requirements.
7. Accept terms and conditions if shown.
8. Click **Confirm & Proceed to Payment**.
9. Complete payment (for paid bookings) to confirm the booking.

## Booking holds during checkout

The system creates a pending hold while checkout is in progress. If payment is not completed, that pending hold expires automatically.

> Pending bookings hold a slot for about 15 minutes during checkout.

## Cancelling a booking

Members can cancel their confirmed or pending bookings from their account. Cancellation eligibility depends on the facility's configured cancellation window: bookings within that window may not be cancellable by members.

Admins can always cancel bookings, regardless of the cancellation window.
